Weekend is here..Oo lalalala.Let’s start it with something sweet.
Homemade salted Caramels!
I have been wanting to make some homemade caramels recipe
ever since I have the most yummiest cheesecake ever..Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Also I badly needed to use the candy thermometer which I have
used only twice in last 3 years, if not I may not even remember that ever
existed!
I blindly followed the recipe from Joy of Baking and worked
like a charm. It makes a perfect gift item if you can manage to spare a few.
Home-made Salted Caramels
Recipe From Joy of baking
Ingredients
¾ Cup Heavy Cream
½ Cup White Sugar
½ Cup Brown Sugar
1 tspn Sea Salt
1 tspn Vanilla extract
Directions
In a pan, add the cream, sugar and salt.
On medium low heat, bring it to boil and stir continuously
until the sugar is melted completely.
Clamp a candy thermometer to the side of the pan.
Boil the mixture over medium high heat (do not stir) until
the temperature reaches 245 degrees F
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the caramel into a greased pan and let cool overnight.
Following day, with a greased knife cut the caramels into
squares and wrap it in a candy wrappers and njoy the salted sugary caramels.
